Dennis was born and raised in Muncie, Indiana. Dennis was the only son of Orvin and Marie Mason. Dennis had two half sisters(Doris and Darlene) on his dads side and one half brother (Buddy) and one half sister (Nancy)on his mothers side.
Dennis would have been married to Linda (Withers), for 38 years the year of his death(2007). Dennis and Linda had two sons(Dennis Jr and Scottie). Counting stepgrandchildren, Dennis and Linda had 11 grandchildren and 1 stepgreatgrandchild.
Dennis was a jack of all trades and master of none. Dennis was a welder most of his working life. Dennis worked for nine and a half years at Westinghouse before they closed down. Dennis owned his own tree surgery service, Dennis also drove semi's for awhile also. Dennis custom made industrial woodsplitters for people. Dennis had lots of hobbies, including radio controled boats and airplanes, wood working, and alot that are to much to mention.
Dennis was in the army for three years. While in the army he was sent to Germany and Viet Nam. Dennis always wanted to go back to Germany but never made it. While in the service Dennis trained attack dogs and was a helicopter machine gunnist. Dennis did not talk about Viet Nam much, the things that happened while he was there were to aweful to talk about.
Dennis's diabetes was found to be caused by agent orange that he was around in the service. The diabetes caused Dennis to go blind. Dennis went to a blind school in Chicago connected to the service. Dennis was so good at getting around that people that did not know him never knew he was blind. The diabetes caused not only blindness in Dennis, he also had several strokes and congestive heart failure. Dennis died at the age of 59 from complications of the diabetes, while in a nursing home he was in for a little over a year.
Dennis is very much loved and missed by his family!!!!
Your Loved One lives In Your Heart~
Many tender memories soften your grief,
May fond recollection bring you relief,
And may you find comfort and peace in the thought
Of the joy that knowing your loved one brought...
For time and space can never divide
Or keep your loved one from your side,
When memory paints in colors true
The happy hours that belonged to you.

HUGS FROM HEAVEN
HUGS FROM HEAVEN
When you feel a gentle breeze,
Caress you when you sigh
It's a hug sent from heaven
From a loved one way up high.
If a soft and tender raindrop
Lands upon your nose
They've added a small kiss
As fragile as a rose.
If a song you hear fills you
With a feeling of sweet love
It's a hug sent from heaven
From someone special up above.
If you awaken in the morning
To a bluebird's chirping song
It's music sent from heaven
To cheer you all day long.
If tiny little snowflakes
Land upon your face
It's a hug sent from heaven
Trimmed with angel lace.
So keep the joy in your heart
If you're lonely my dear friend
Hugs that are sent from heaven
A broken heart will mend
